A new museum that will showcase the province’s rich heritage.
Last Wednesday, July 1, the National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) officially opened the doors to its new regional component museum in Baler, Aurora — the first in Central Luzon.
According to the agency, the opening was held in celebration of the 24th Philippine–Spanish Friendship Day, which brought together the government and its institutional partners.
On its opening day, a special walkthrough and exhibition validation session was held with Indigenous Peoples representatives and community partners.
The public was also welcomed at 2:00 pm on the said, with the first 50 visitors receiving special tokens.
Visitors may also enjoy galleries highlighting Aurora’s history, cultural traditions, biodiversity, and artistic heritage, alongside exhibitions that explore the Philippines’ historical ties with Spain and selected works from the National Fine Arts Collection.
Its opening forms part of the National Museum’s continuing efforts to make its collections, programs, and services more accessible for the communities across the archipelago, with the agency having a total of National Museums nationwide to 22.
Admission to NMP-Baler is free, with the branch open from Monday to Sunday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
