Fuelling the rumored partnership between the two Philippine comedy icons.
In a rare occurrence on Philippine television, on Friday, July 3, the two main figures of the country’s noontime television institutions Eat Bulaga and It’s Showtime greeted each other on-air.
Vice Ganda was the first to make her greeting during the Laro, Laro Pick segment, and said:
“Ay guys! May babatiin lang ako, yung idol ko. Hi, Bossing Vic!”
“Hi, Bossing! I love you!” she added as her fellow mainstays also cheered to her surprise mention of Vic, who is also known by his moniker Bossing.
Meanwhile, as the credits rolled on Eat Bulaga, which ended slightly later than Showtime on the said day, the one-third of the TVJ troika also gave his reply and even teased a meeting with the Unkabogable Box-Office Superstar.
“Teka lang may bumati sa akin kanina eh. Babatiin ko rin siya ngayon. What’s up, Vice? Mag-uusap tayo, ha!” he said.
Immediately, this caught the attention of viewers, with netizens expressing their intrigue over the rare moment on social media.
Meanwhile, others also noted that this could be in connection to the rumored partnership between the two Philippine comedy icons for a movie for the first time.
In fact, a leaked poster by a certain personality, which spread on social media, allegedly teased a conference for the said collaboration.
As of this writing, neither of them have made any comments regarding that long-standing speculation.
Although, the said tie-up is rumored to be for their next entry to the upcoming 52nd Metro Manila Film Festival in December 2026, which they are both established crowd-drawers.
Vice participated in the recent edition last December with her film Call Me Mother, where she earned her first Best Actor award. Meanwhile, Vic joined the milestone 50th edition in 2024 with his partnership with Piolo Pascual for The Kingdom.
