This will be the first time that the Asian music awards show will be held outside of the continent.
On Thursday, July 18, Mnet announced venues and dates for the annual MAMA Awards this year.
According to the Korean music network, the 2024 edition will be staged for three days in two cities: Los Angeles, California and Osaka, Japan.
The first evening of MAMA Awards will take place at the Dolby Theater in LA on November 21, 2024.
This will mark the first time in its 25-year-long history that MAMA will be held in the United States, and ultimately, outside of Asia.
Meanwhile, the second and third nights will happen at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome on November 22 and 23, 2024.
However, as of the moment, the full list of performers and presenters have not yet been announced by Mnet.
The MAMA Awards is considered to be one of the biggest events in Korean pop and Asian music.
It was originally established in 1999 as the Mnet Video Music Awards, and after a few more rebrands, it was reorganized into the Mnet Asian Music Awards in 2009.
With the exception of editions from 1999 to 2009 and the pandemic years of 2020 and 2021, the MAMA Awards have been held outside of its home base South Korea since 2010.
