Marking the return of the Kapamilya-Kapatid partnership.
In a statement issued on Thursday, June 18, ABS-CBN ended the weeks-long speculations about the revival of its content partnership with TV5.
This, as the network announced that Sigabo, the upcoming comeback series of the Kapamilya Primetime King and Hari ng Aksyon sa Ating Henerasyon Coco Martin with Prime Actress Julia Montes, will also air on the Kapatid station.
It noted that the highly-anticipated action-drama, which premieres on June 22 (Monday), will air on TV5, alongside ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live on YouTube and Facebook, and iWant.
The show promises to deliver a “thrilling mix of action, romance, and comedy that Filipino families will enjoy every weeknight.”
On the rekindling of its ties with the Manny Pangilinan-owned network, the Lopez family media empire said, “ABS-CBN remains committed to being in the service of the Filipino as we continue to find ways to bring inspiring and entertaining programs to more audiences by working with more platforms.“
“We thank viewers for their unwavering support,” it added.
The premiere of Sigabo on Monday will mark the return of first-run ABS-CBN shows on channel 5, more than five months after their nearly five-year-long content supply agreement that ended due to a widely-publicized rift between both parties.
Since January 2, ABS-CBN programs shifted to ALLTV2, with whom it forged a licensing agreement for the Kapamilya Channel, which was later subsumed into the parent brand.
As for TV5, it has also presented its own slate of original shows, specifically A Secret In Prague and My Bespren Emman, as well as reruns of its past collaborations with ABS-CBN Studios, Nag-aapoy na Damdamin and Pira-Pirasong Paraiso to fill its primetime block.
As of this writing, TV5 has not yet published a revise programming lineup for its TodoMax Primetime block effective June 22.
