According to its website, the animation project is a 26X11 series, which is a fantasy adventure rooted in Filipino mythology and magic.
“It follows Jordan Santos, an unassuming teen whose chill summer in the Philippines takes a wild turn when a supernatural threat plunges his island into chaos,” the description read.

The series was created by Filipino animation talents Bobby Pontillas and Bernard Badion. Bobby is a Disney Animation veteran whose credits include Zootopia, Moana, Big Hero 6, and Wreck-It Ralph, and who received an Academy Award nomination for the animated short film One Small Step in 2018.
Meanwhile, Bernard has developed projects for major studios in Los Angeles, including Transformers: EarthSpark.
Sun Chaser has already earned international recognition after winning the Animation du Monde Prize for international projects at Annecy/MIFA 2025, one of the animation industry’s most prestigious platforms for emerging animated projects and independent series.
Alongside the premiere, a Kickstarter campaign will also launch to help fund future episodes as the creators work toward bringing the full first season to audiences worldwide.
Toon City Animation also previously said that it is currently seeking collaborators, producers, and partners to help bring the world of Sun Chaser to life and are looking for broadcasters and distributors.
“We’re building something rooted in culture, adventure, and heart—and we’re just getting started,” they added.
