The two were hailed as winners of the reality show a week ago.
Through their respective Instagram posts, Kapamilya actor-model Brent Manalo and Kapuso content creator-actress Mika Salamanca shared their reflections after living inside the ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ house for 17 weeks.
The duo known as BreKa was proclaimed as the first Big Winner pair in the 20-year history of the program that launched in the Philippines in 2005.
In his post, Brent thanked their fans, saying that it is “privilege” of his to be seen and loved by them.
He also gave a short message to his partner, writing, “Mika, kagkaduo tayo sa loob—pero mas masasandalan mo ako ngayon na nasa outside world na tayo. Kakampi mo ‘ko.“
Meanwhile, Mika shared her story through a lengthy caption in her personal page.
The Kapuso personality recalled, “Pumasok ako ng PBB na may dalang konting damit at pangarap lang, kaya hindi ko inexpect na aabot ako sa dulo, ‘cause wdym (what do you mean) umabot talaga TAYO sa dulo?! NO WAYYYYY, legit?“
She also revealed that she once auditioned for PBB a decade ago but she was not chosen, with Mika saying that it maybe because that she was not yet ready at that point in time.
“I’m a firm believer that when plans don’t go your way, it’s because God has a bigger one, at ito yun!“
She continued, “Hanggang ngayon po hindi ko pa rin po maintindihan kung ano ang ginawa kong tama sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya para maging “Big Winner” dahil ang ginawa ko lang naman po ay ang bilin ng mga mahal ko sa buhay—ang maging ako.“
The star did not also forget to give a shoutout to her followers, telling them, “Thank you for letting me reintroduce myself. Words are not enough to explain how overwhelmed I am sa lahat ng sumalubong na pagmamahal sa amin. Maraming salamat po! Araw-araw po akong maghahanap ng paraan para maibalik sa inyo ang pagmamahal na natatanggap namin. KAYO PO ANG TUNAY NA BIG WINNER!“
Mika also dedicated their win to other evicted housemates, with whom she formed strong connections with, such as Klarisse de Guzman, Shuvee Etrata, and Bianca de Vera.
She then gave a message to Brent, “welcome to the outside world, partner. If not for you, this wouldn’t have been possible. From your manifestation sa first duo formation to being the final duo to being the first duo big winner! You really made this journey easier by carrying my emotions with me. You never made me feel na mabigat yung baggage ko kasi lagi kang ready na sumalo. And kahit nasa labas na tayo, walang magbabago. I got you. You got me.“
Before signing off for the last time as the “Controversial Ca-babe-len ng Pampanga,” she thanked the ‘PBB Celebrity Collab’ team and her management at Sparkle GMA Artist Center.
Brent and Mika emerged as winners of the season, trumping their fellow Big 4 Duos—RaWi, CharEs, and AzVer, who respectively finished as second to fourth big placers during the finale last July 5.
