Marcos, Carney visit Filipino fastfood chain branch in Vancouver

As part of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s official visit to Canada, he was able to visit a branch of the Filipino fastfood chain Jollibee in Vancouver together with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

The said branch, located along Granville Street  is owned by a Filipino-Canadian, with the two leaders introduced to different Jollibee offerings.

During which, they also interacted with staff members and the famed Jollibee mascot, and together, posed for a couple of pictures.

Jollibee is a brand under the namesake Jollibee Foods Corp. (JFC), which has already significantly grown its international footprint across North America, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia over the years.

In Canada, Jollibee is set to celebrate its 10-year anniversary in the country, with plans underway to expand its chain in the country to 85 locations.

The aggressive expansion also local job creation, benefitting both Canadians and members of the Filipino-Canadian community across restaurant operations, regional supply chains, and local construction sectors.

Soon, Jollibee will also open its franchising model, allowing stores to he owned by Canadians and seen to significantly contribute to the Philippines’ trade in services through royalties as these are registered as service exports for the Philippines.

In addition, the Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB) noted that Canada is Jollibee’s second-largest export market for Philippine food products, with its signature products such as peach mango pies, ube pie, pineapple juice, and Jollibee gravy are manufactured in the Philippines and exported to Canada.
