This, as the station is rumored to be reformatting anew.
In a series of Facebook post, DJ Chris, who was most recently associated with FM radio station Home Radio 97.9, explained on social media his sudden disappearance from the airwaves.
The disc jockey had previously been the host of the show Midday Classics, which aired until April 30.
Since then, the station had quietly entered into “stunting mode” that comprise an all-music line-up, which is usually done prior to the introduction of a new format—something that has not yet been confirmed by Home Radio.
Meanwhile, DJ Chris on Facebook issued a statement which read: “Kamusta po? Gusto ko lang magbigay ng maikling paliwanag tungkol sa aking pag-alis sa Home Radio. Marami sa inyo ang nagtatanong, so eto na po ang nangyari.“
He then explained, “Under new management, nag-implement na po ang station ng all-music format. Ibig sabihin, wala na pong mga live DJs sa ere.”
The radio personality also said that he is saddened by what occurred and would miss doing his program.
“Siyempre, malungkot ako na nangyari ito. Naging malaking bahagi na kayo ng araw-araw ko at mami-miss ko ang ating samahan,” he said. “Sobrang na-appreciate ko ang oras at suporta na ibinigay niyo sa ating show–kahit na naging maikli lang ang panahon na magkasama tayo, it was all worth it.“
DJ Chris also shared that he still has not yet found a new radio home and told his followers that he would inform them once he has a “good news” to share.
“Sana ay patuloy niyo pa ring suportahan ang bagong format ng station kahit wala na ako sa ere. Maraming salamat po at isang malaking karangalan ang makasama kayo,” he concluded his written statement.
This news comes after station manager Roderick ‘Braggy’ Braganza, who also served as the voiceover of PTV, passed away last April 25.
Meanwhile, in related development, Home Radio’s parent company Aliw Broadcasting Corporation has since ended the DWIZ News FM brand across its network of FM stations in the regions, with a replacement brand yet to be announced as of this writing.
