It is the first store in the Philippines.
On Friday, April 24, SM Makati posted on its official Facebook page a new shop that will soon open inside the mall, which is located in Ayala Center.
In the image that it shared, a can’t-be-missed red boardup featuring the iconic image of Mario from the game Super Mario is seen with the text “Nintendo Authorized Store” and “coming soon” displayed.
“Wahoo! SM Makati welcomes Nintendo’s first authorized store — opening May 2026!” added the mall in its caption.
Meanwhile, according to the official page of the soon-to-be opened store, it will be located on Level 2.
The Nintendo Authorized Store is not an entirely foreign concept in the Southeast Asian region, as in Thailand, the first in ASEAN store opened back in 2024 at Siam Paragon.
Inside the store, Nintendo offers a wide variety of products, including rare items. In addition, there are also five game trial stations and many special activities at the Bangkok store.
In Manila, there is still little information about what Pinoy fans will expect, but the wait will soon be over, anyway.
Nintendo is a Japanese video gaming company established in the 19th century. It is primarily known for well-loved games such as the above-mentioned Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Pokémon, and Animal Crossing, among others.
