In the recently published list of Trendrod last Sunday, January 4, it named the Top 40 Philippine TV and Streaming Programs in 2025 as part of its Best Shows annual feature.

Among those included in the said list are fifteen programs that were aired by GMA Network in the past year.

The flag of the Kapuso network was raised by the revenge-drama series Beauty Empire, which had an ensemble cast led by Barbie Forteza, Kyline Alcanatara, Ruffa Gutierrez, Gloria Diaz, Sid Lucero, Chai Fonacier, Sam Concepcion, and Choi Bo-min.

Ranking third overall, the number one program of the station on the list, the lead stars received compliments for their performances in the series that ran from June to October 2025.

Barbie Forteza showed her range in this series, as she was able to convincingly portray a naive teenage version of Noreen one scene and becoming the mature and tactical version of her character in the next,” the said article read.

Furthermore, “Kyline also returned to her kontrabida roots on this one, but also displayed Shari’s soft side effectively.”

After Beauty Empire, the next GMA show on the said list is the first season of Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition—which is a co-production between the network and ABS-CBN Studios—that ranked sixth.

Andrea Torres’ afternoon drama Akusada was also in the Top 10, placing 8th overall.

Other programs of the network that received placements were Stars On The Floor (#12), Sanggang Dikit FR (#15), Slay (#17), and Cruz Vs. Cruz (#20), among others.

The said Top 40 list of the independent publication recognized original shows produced by Filipino production companies, TV networks, or streaming services in the past year.

Based on the criteria, the respective series or season premiere dates must have taken place between January 1 and December 21, 2025.

Shows that have been continuously broadcasting since 2024 or earlier—and did take any months-long season breaks—were not considered for that list.

Meanwhile, extended versions or repackaged versions of programs (e.g. a separate TV version of a show previously seen on streaming platforms) were deemed qualified.
