The channel has been airing simulcasts of programs on 105.9 True FM for more than two years.
In an announcement by pay TV provider Cignal TV, it confirmed that the True TV, which is available on ch. 19, is the next channel to bow out amid an ongoing revamp of its lineup.
The station, which is owned by Nation Broadcasting Corporation, carries simulcasts of programs airing on 105.9 True FM.
As per details provided, it will sign off for the final time on August 15, 2026.
While there is no replacement in sight for the actual channel slot, affected programs on the channel will continue to be seen on Cignal via the One PH channel.
At present, the 24/7 Filipino news and public service channel is already carrying majority of content on True FM and True TV such as Good Morning, Bayan, Ted Failon at DJ Chacha, Sana Lourd, Cristy Ferminute, Wanted Sa Radyo, Sa Totoo Lang, and more.
Conversely, the FM and TV station now also carries programs from One PH including Perfect Mornings, One Balita Pilipinas, and Match-Made. Those are in addition to One News’ Storycon.
Although, those that have the status of their TV simulcasts still unknown at the moment are the primetime shows Heart 2 Heart and True Confessions.
True TV was first launched in 2024 as True FM TV, which broadcast shows that were airing on what was then Radyo5 92.3 True FM.
It was only in November 2024 when it adopted its current name upon the move of the station to 105.9 FM due to an affiliation change prompted by the sale of its original 92.3 frequency to Philippine Collective Media Corporation (PCMC) for FMR Manila.
Since then, it has ran parallel with One PH, which was originally set up in 2019 for the exact same purpose as True TV.
Meanwhile, the shuttering of True TV also comes amid the ongoing change in the portfolio of channels on Cignal.
Last June, the long-running Sari-Sari Channel was closed down after 10 years after the end of the partnership between the pay TV provider and Viva Communications, Inc.
Meanwhile, BuKo, the 24/7 dedicated comedy channel in partnership with APT Entertainment, will also be ending its five-year run on August 1.
