In a post on his social media page, Atty. Jopet Sison, the son of Atty. Jose Sison, announced to the public that his father passed away on the morning of Thursday, July 23.
He wrote, “This morning, July 23, 2026, our Papa Ping peacefully joined our Creator. We are comforted that he lived a full life as a lawyer, a husband to Josie, a father to his six children, and a grandfather to his sixteen grandchildren.“
The family also requested the public to keep Atty. Jose Sison in their prayers and “remember him with love and fond memories.”
Sison, 88, became known to the masses by being the face of the drama anthology program Ipaglaban Mo!, which aired across three decades on national television.
The program’s final iteration aired from 2013 until 2020 via ABS-CBN and was re-aired until as recent as 2024 via the Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and ALLTV.
The family told that the Wake will be held at Ascension Chapel, The Immaculate Conception Cathedral of Cubao, 40 Lantana, Cubao, Quezon City starting Friday afternoon, July 24, 2026.
Meanwhile, he will be laid to his final resting place during the Interment at Heavens Gate 1 Memorial Park, Antipolo City on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, with the time yet to be announced.
