They will ignite the competition between the two fictional groups in the series.
On Friday, July 10, GMA Network officially announced the entry of two new faces in the top-rating afternoon drama series Born To Shine.
This, as Kapamilya star AC Bonifacio and The Clash Season 1 Grand Champion Golden Cañedo are set to star in the series as their respective characters Kendall Domingo and Lexi Hipolito.
Both of them are the new members of NIXI, the former group of Megan (Olive May), who is now part of the girl group’s chief rival, YUMI, which also includes the series’ main character, Jeni (Zephanie).
In a report on 24 Oras, AC noted her excitement on being part of the said project. She told, “I’m just glad to be here. I always love to do shows that celebrate performing and dancing and singing. And this is one of them, so I’m just glad to be part of it.”
Although, she also noted that she has yet to fully recover from her accident last year, which resulted to her broken arm.
“But we’re back at it, (I am now) dancing again,” she told.
As for Golden, definitely “the champion is return” as she has finally broken her five-year break from shiwbiz to pursue education, earning a degree in nursing.
She also conveyed her excitement to show her other talent in dancing through her participation in the series.
“Binigyan po ako agad ng opportunity dito sa ‘Born to Shine,’ and of course po na maipakita ko rin ‘yung talent ko kasi it’s my first time po sa serye, sa sayaw,” said Cañedo.
Born To Shine is top-billed by Zephanie, alongside Michael Saher, Olive May, Manilyn Reynes, Vina Morales, Tessie Tomas, Smokey Manaloto, Roselle Nava, and many more.
It airs from Monday to Saturday at 2:30 pm, right after It’s Showtime.
