“Halfway through the year. Looking back, I can’t help but say, thank You, Lord.”
That is what Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid wrote in a social media that he uploaded on Saturday, July 4, as he shared that his being booked and busy in the first few months of 2026.
“This first half of the year has blessed me with opportunities I never take for granted — from filming Los Salvajes Bravos in Spain, to wrapping Hand of God, and now continuing the journey with Hari ng Tondo,” the 28-year-old star noted. “Hindi pa man napapanood ng lahat ang mga proyektong ito, pakiramdam ko ang dami ko nang natutunan.”
According to him, an important lesson that he kept with him when he ushered in the year is that “you don’t always have to see the results to know you’re on the right path.”
“Just keep showing up. Stay disciplined. Stay consistent. Keep your head down and focus on the work. Kahit hindi mo pa nakikita yung bunga ng lahat ng pagod at sakripisyo mo, keep going,” he explained.
Ruru said that he realized that the “process changes a (person) long before the results ever do.”
“There were days when all I could do was trust. Trust the process. Trust the people around me. And most importantly, trust God’s timing,” he continued. “Because I truly believe that nothing is impossible with Him.”
He also reflected that as an actor, he gets to play characters that are considered “dark, dangerous, and complicated,” but once he hears the word “cut” from the director, he snaps back and returns to his reality.
“Tao pa rin pag humaharap sa tao,” he also emphasized. “Gusto kong maging approachable. Gusto kong maging mabuting tao sa bawat taong nakakasalamuha ko.”
Ruru said in the end, what is important for him is how he treats others, more than any brole, award or achievement that he receives.
“Kung may gusto man akong iwan na legacy, sana hindi lang dahil sa mga karakter na ginampanan ko, kundi dahil sa kung paano ko pinakitunguhan ang mga taong nakasama ko sa journey na ’to,” he added.
Entering the latter half of the year, he vowed that nothing will change with what he has done in the past six months.
“As we begin the second half of the year, wala namang magbabago. I’ll keep showing up. I’ll keep working. I’ll keep learning. I’ll keep choosing kindness. And I’ll keep leaving the rest in God’s hands,” he said.
He then thanked the people who continue to support him and concluded his message by saying: “We’re just getting started. 🙏🏻”
