Angelica Panganiban warns public against fake page portraying Mangrove resort in Subic

In a post on her Instagram account, actress Angelica Panganiban warned the public about a Facebook page assuming the identity of the Mangrove Resort Subic, which is owned by her husband, Gregg Homan.

In the letter, which was coursed through the Uy Coronel & Villamor Law Offices, they addressed an ongoing and active fraudulent scheme targeting the public through social media.

It has come to our attention that a fake Facebook page under the name MANGROVE RESORT SUBIC has been falsely claiming to represent Mangrove,” the letter read.

It continued, “This fake page is using Mangrove’s name, branding, and/or likeness to deceive individuals by actively accommodating inquiries and accepting payments without the knowledge and consent of Mangrove with the clear intent to defraud those interested in the facilities and services of Mangrove.”

Unfortunately, the perpetrators have successfully scammed a number of people, according to the legal firm.

Hence, they advised people who have been communicating with a page claiming to be Mangrove to verify its authenticity immediately, noting that only a page in the screenshot in the said letter being the official one. Additionally, it also listed the official email addresses and contact numbers of Mangrove.

Any other page, especially those with similar names or profiles, is NOT affiliated with Mangrove and should be considered fraudulent,” they added.

In litght of this, the public is directed to not engage with, message, or send any personal information, payments, or documents to any page other than the official page above. Moreover, to not click on any links or respond to any offers from the imposter page.

“If you have already been a victim of this scam, please report the incident immediately to your local authorities and contact Mangrove,” they advised the public.

It also said that they treat this matter with utmost seriousness.

We are in the process of engaging authorities who can spearhead an investigation into this fraudulent scheme and are committed to contributing to the identification of the individuals or group responsible for this criminal activity,” the company underscored.
