She reflected on their journey since debut.
In a now-deleted handwritten letter posted on her social media account, Korean singer Park Bom has addressed her fellow members in the second-generation girl group 2NE1—Lee Chaerin (CL), Minzy, and Dara.
In the post, she wrote, as translated, “I am writing this thinking it might be my final message to you all… I came to Korea to become a singer after studying abroad in the U.S. It’s an unexpected story, but please listen.”
She went on to describe each members, calling herself first as the one in charge of vocals and a “singing prodigy,” called CL the “performance god,” Minzy the “dance god,” and Dara as the “princess from the Philippines.”
She then addressed the journey of the band, which was active from 2009 to 2017, before reuniting in 2024 for a reunion tour.
“First, thank you for raising us, who gathered so difficultly. Thank you so much for raising us in Korea… You raised us all, and I hope my heart reaches the group 2NE1. I wanted to convey my heart, so I left this letter.”
She also noted that she wrote the letter to leave the drug-related story that she made in the past.
“Actually I am writing because I want that drug-related story to be treated as if it never happened… It would be such a waste because it was a miracle that the four of us met given the big age differences and how absurd it is…“
The members have not yet issued their responses to Bom’s letter.
