It was indeed a special edition of the segment.

On Thursday, December 4, as part of the week-long MagPaskoSikat anniversary special continued, ABS-CBN noontime variety program It’s Showtime invited a group of victims of the Cebu earthquake and typhoon in Negros Occidental to play in its game segment Laro Laro Pick.

By the end of the portion, barangay health worker Disyang emerged as the winner and moved on to the jackpot round.

She and her family, according to her, are currently staying in a tent and getting food from donations after they were devastated by the powerful quake in Bogo, Cebu in September.

Host Vice Ganda and the rest of the Showtime family rooted for her to win the grand prize, as she was repeatedly urged to pick the “Pot,” where the jackpot question is worth PHP1 million.

Despite wanting to take home the PHP500,000 cash initially, Disyang gave in and took the chance to answer the final question.

And when it happened, Vice gave her a simple, yet life-changing question: “1 + 1?” To which, she correctly answered “two (2)” and will be bagging the jackpot prize.

Ate Disyang nanalo ka ng 1 milyon, gamitin mo ito para bumangon ka. Bumangon kayo ng mga anak mo,” Vice told Disyang, who shared that the prize will be used to fix their house.

But the good news did not end there, as other players of the day also share amongst them another PHP1 million raised by the It’s Showtime hosts.

The TV host continued, “Sa amin ‘yon kami ang maghahati-hati. Pamasko namin sa inyo. Kung anuman ang inabot noon kapag hinahati-hati para sa inyo ‘yon, Merry Christmas po.

Meanwhile, before the game, the madlang people were also treated to a rock-themed performance during the opening segment, led by Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, Karylle, Anne Curtis, along with Bamboo, Aia De Leon, Siakol The Juans’ Carl, and Janine Berdin.
