The channel will be presenting a refreshed slate of programs starting Monday, May 18.
On Friday, May 15, Cignal TV’s bilingual news channel One News announced the upcoming changes to its weekday programming block effective the following week.
Foremost, the afternoon news and chat show Afternoon Delight with Lourd De Veyra and Denise Tan, which aired weekdays at 2:00 pm from 2024, has ended its run.
In its place, the Kapatid news channel is reviving its One News Now top-of-the-hour bulletins, which will air each afternoon at 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm.
StoryCon, fronted by journalists Ed Lingao, Regina Lay, and Any Pamintuan of the Philippine Star, will remain on the 4:00 pm slot.
After which, the first new show will make its premiere on May 18, with Denise Tan moving to late afternoons to give a rundown of the top stories of the day on NewsFeed at 5:30 pm.
Coming right after that is the live episode of the long-running topical-discussion program Sa Totoo Lang, which will air from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on One News.
Despite this move, the show hosted by the trio of Jove Francisco, Chiqui Vergel, and Maricel Halili, will still remain on its original station, One PH — where it will air from 9:30 to 10:30 pm on the same day — and on 105.9 True FM and True TV at 11:00 pm.
Amid the big political shakeups and headlines, One News debuts the nightly program with Lourd De Veryra entitled Political Beat, which will air from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.
To cap the upsized slate of live news programming of the station, The Big Story with Ces Drilon, Shawn Yao, and Pauline Versoza airs at 8:00 pm every weeknight.
These changes coincide with the scheduled convening of the Senate as an Impeachment Court on Monday, which will start at 3:00 pm. Possible scheduling changes, without prior notice, might occur in light of the said motion.
Notably, the revamp also takes place days ahead of the eighth anniversary of the channel, which launched on May 28, 2018 as a premier news channel formed through the synergy between Cignal TV, TV5’s News5, Philippine Star, and BusinessWorld, as well as its affiliation with Bloomberg TV.
