Movies will be the new companion of Kapamilya viewers every Sunday lunchtime.
On Thursday, May 14, ABS-CBN officially unveiled its Sunday Noontime Blockbusters, which will make its premiere telecast on Sunday, May 17.
For its maiden presentation, this movie block, which will air every 12 noon on Sundays, will be premiering on free-to-air television the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) comedy movie Partners In Crime, which starred Vice Ganda and Ivana Alawi.
This new block will takeover the slot vacated by the country’s longest-running musical variety show ASAP, which will be relaunched on the same day as ASAP XP.
It will continue to bring Kapamilya viewers in the Philippines and abroad the same concert experience that they have served for the past 31 years on a new timeslot every Sunday evening at 5:30 pm.
For its first four episodes until June 7, ASAP XP will air on television the star-studded back-to-back shows at the Araneta Coliseum that were held last May 10.
AC Bonifacio, Alexa Ilacad, Angeline Quinto, Bamboo, BGYO, BINI, Carmelle Collado Darren Espanto, DNA, Elha Nympha, Erik Santos, Esang, Fyang Smith, Gary Valenciano, Gela Atayde, Jameson Blake, Jane De Leon, Jarren, Jason Dy, Jeremy G, JM Dela Cerna, JM Ibarra, JM Yosures, Jona, Joshua Garcia, and Ivana Alawi are part of the slate of artists at the said event.
Also part of the line-up are Kai Montinola, KD Estrada, Khimo, Klarisse de Guzman, Kyla, Maki, Marielle Montellano, Martin Nievera, Maymay Entrata, Mayonnaise, Regine Velasquez- Alcasid, Reiven Umali, Robi Domingo, Sofronio Vasquez, and Zsazsa Padilla.
In light of these, the Kapamilya network is also revamping its Yes Weekend Sunday afternoon block.
Right after Sunday Noontime Blockbusters, the stories of trials and triumphs of entrepreneurs will air on My Puhunan: Kaya Mo! at 3:00 pm, which will be followed by the newsmagazine show Rated Korina with Korina Sanchez-Roxas at 3:30 pm.
TV Patrol Weekend will then transfer to an earlier slot of 4:30 pm on Sundays, while it will keep its 5:45 pm start time on Saturdays.
Meanwhile, starting May 23 and 24, the blocktimed game show Tubig To Handle led by Yassi Pressman and Marco Gumabao will air every weekend. On Saturdays, it will air following It’s Showtime at 2:30 pm, while it will be broadcast at 2:15 pm (after Sunday Noontime Blockbusters) on Sunday afternoons.
