He went to do it himself earlier today.
in a memorandum issued on Monday, September 15, Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez, began to require officials of the road and rail sectors at the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to use public modes of transport when going to their office, at least once a week.
The said directive is effective this week and is line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s own order to immediately find solutions to solve commuter woes.
As a show of his own will, Sec. Lopez even rode the public transpo on his way to the office on Monday rush hour.
Meanwhile, for those serving in other sectors, the acting chief encouraged them to use the public utility vehicles (PUVs) to experience the issues experienced by commuters firsthand.
Aside from using these PUVs, the road and rail officials are required to shbmit a report, give recommendations, and create and action plan to further improved the system.
