The network made the announcement on Friday night.
In an omnibus plug that played during the finale episode of period drama ‘Pulang Araw,’ GMA Network unveiled the inital slate of shows that will premiere on the network in early 2025.
First on the list are programs that will air on the GMA Prime evening block.
The banner program for the New Year is ‘Lolong: Bayani Ng Bayan,’ the sequel to the hit 2022 fantasy-action drama ‘Lolong’ starring Ruru Madrid. The show will begin airing on January 20.
‘Mga Batang Riles,’ topbilled by Miguel Tanfelix, is already in the horizon, as it is expected to make its premiere on Monday, January 6.
Jillian Ward and Michael Sager’s ‘My Ilonggo Girl’ will also bring ‘kilig’ to the primetime block starting January 13.
In the plug, viewers also got the first look at the upcoming ‘Encantadia’ spin-off, ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre’ of Bianca Umali, Kelvin Miranda, Faith Da Silva, and Angel Guardian.
Meanwhile, GMA Afternoon Prime will also refresh its block come January and February, with three new shows already set to launch during those months.
Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay is on top of the list, with their afternoon soap ‘Prinsesa Ng City Jail’ hitting the screens on January 13.
Following that, Herlene Budol will be back on daytime on February 10, more than a year after the finale of her top-rated revenge drama series ‘Magandang Dilag’ in 2023. This time, she will become ‘Binibining Marikit’ and will star alongside Pokwang.
On February 17, Camille Prats’ ‘Mommy Dearest’ will premiere and for the first time, she will be seen portraying a villainess.
The announcement comes days after GMA shared their official tagline and branding for the network’s 75th anniversary in June 2025.
