The board issued this to producers of the show on Friday.
In a statement dated Friday, August 11, 2023, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) said it that issued a “notice to appear and testify” versus the producers of TV5 noontime show ‘E.A.T.’
This is “over the utterance of profane words by one of the program hosts, Wally Bayola,” which happened during the August 10 edition of the show’s ‘Sugod Bahay Mga Kapatid’ segment.
The MTRCB says that their Monitoring and Inspection Unit has flagged the incident, leading them to the decision to hold a hearing on the matter on Monday, August 14, 2023.
The agency also stated that the “scene is in violation of Section 2 (B), Chapter IV of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Presidential Decree No. 1986 (PD No. 1986).”

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), motu proprio, issued a Notice to Appear and Testify to the Production Group of E.A.T noontime TV show over the utterance of profane words by one of the program hosts, Wally Bayola, which aired on 10 August 2023 as covered by the Board’s Monitoring and Inspection Unit.
Said scene is in violation of Section 2 (B), Chapter IV of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Presidential Decree No. 1986 (PD No. 1986). The hearing date is on 14 August 2023, Monday, at the MTRCB Offices in Timog Avenue, Quezon City.
The Board said any violation of PD No. 1986 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations governing motion pictures, television programs, and related promotional materials shall be penalized with suspension or cancellation of permits and/or licenses issued by the Board and/or with the imposition of fines and other administrative penalty/penalties.

In the said portion, Bayola, who was off-frame at that second, blurted out “p**ang ina.” Other hosts of the program were then visibly stunned, before a laugh track aired over Jose Manalo, while hosts inside the studio talked about what occurred. Amost instantaneously, the show continued.

This incident is not the first time that the MTRCB has flagged a noontime show since the July shake-up. Most recently, it had issued the same notice to ‘It’s Showtime’ due to hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez’s alleged “indecent act” while eating a cake icing on July 25. The agency has yet to hand down a decision over the matter.
