New song alert from the K-pop superstar.
In a series of posts on her social media account, Korean superstar Jennie Kim, a member of the world-famous K-pop group Blackpink, shared that she is releasing new solo music soon.
Entitled Less Than A Lover, the 30-year-old proudly wrote the lyrics, produced the music, and directed the official video for the said track that will be released globally on Friday, July 24 at 12:00 noon (Manila time) or 1:00 pm (Seoul time).
Prior to this announcement, Jennie had already launched the song during her performances at the Governors Ball in New York City and Mad Cool Festival in Spain.
This song marks her return to doing individual music as she previously participated in the remix of the viral single Dracula by Tame Impala.
In March 2025, she released her first album called Ruby, which featured the K-pop star’s collaborations with international artists like Childish Gambino, Dua Lipa, Doechii, Dominic Fike, FKJ, and Kali Uchis.
Among the tracks in the said album are Like Jennie, Mantra, and Handlebars.
Jennie debuted in 2016 as part of the third-generation K-pop group Blackpink, along with fellow members Rosé, Jisoo, and Lisa.
Last year, the band released the single Jump and embarked on a world tour entitled Deadline to mark their 10th anniversary this year. They also released the tour’s namesake mini-album last February.
