According to the Department of Transportation (DOTr), 103 modern public utility vehicle (PUV) stops are currently built in various parts of the country to improve commuter safety and convenience.

19 PUV stops are currently being constructed in Muntinlupa and Iloilo, while funding has been secured for 84 PUV stops in Quezon City; Palayan and Science City of Muñoz in the province of Nueva Ecija, Zamboanga, Calapan, Cebu City, and Mandaue.

It will add to the 24 PUV stops already built by the Department in Marikina, Manila, Malabon, Quezon City, and both Kalibo and Malay in Aklan province.

These modern PUV stops are sheltered and equipped with benches that are clearly marked for general commuters and designated seats for PWDs, pregnant passengers, and senior citizens, CCTV cameras, lighting, concrete bollards, tactile pavement, charging station, solar panels, and even a bike repair station.

Bike map panels were also likewise integrated in the PUV stops, which will equally promote sustainability and encourage active transport.

The first two of such kind were opened in Marikina City, where the PUV stops were placed outside the Concepcion Elementary School and San Roque Park.
