On Wednesday, June 24, a report by ABS-CBN News confirmed that Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza is set to star in a new film under the direction of Ivan Andrew Payawal.

Entitled Saving Cherry, the story will follow her titular character, Cherry, who is said to be a “conservative and devoted woman who plans to save her virginity for her wedding night — until she catches her fiancé Jude (Khalil Ramos) cheating.”

To take her control back, Cherry will go on a road trip with her bridesmaids and wedding planner with a single mission: to lose her virginity, while a remorseful Jude tries to win her back.

Also part of this film are AC Bonifacio who will portray Ingrid, while Mika Salamanca plays Jewel, Mikee Quintos is Beth, and Sassa Gurl as Martha, who are all part of Cherry’s support system.

Prior to this, Forteza shared stills from the set of the movie, where she wore a wedding gown. She even wrote the caption: “Nobody can ruin my big day,” sparking intrigue among her fans and followers.

Saving Cherry is one of the projects lined up for Barbie, as she is also set to star with Megastar Sharon Cuneta, as well as John Estrada and Khalil Ramos, in the upcoming ABS-CBN Studios and GMA Network collaboration project Honor Thy Mother.

The series is set to stream on Prime Video later this year.
