SEVENTEEN goes on three-year hiatus due to members’ military enlistment

Promising their return as a complete team by then.

Last weekend, June 20 and 21, Korean pop boy band SEVENTEEN held a back-to-back concert at the Asiad Main Stadium in Incheon, South Korea.

Taking the stage at the concert called CARATLAND, were the nine active members of the team — S.Coups, Joshua, Jun, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino — who performed the team’s hit songs over the years.

Currently, Jeonghan, Wonwoo, Hoshi and Woozi are enlisted in the mandatory military service of South Korea.

The said event was special as it marked the last time that the band will be together on stage as a team, at least for now.

This, as the band will be going on a three-year-hiatus as other members are set to be conscripted soon, with Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino all expected to enter service in the coming months.

In a post, the members wrote: “We will be even more radiant now and in the future than at the beginning.”

They also made a short, but important promise to their fans: “Carats, we will be back as 13 members.”

SEVENTEEN debuted in 2015 and went on to release multiple hit tracks like Pretty UAju NiceDon’t Wanna CryClapOh MyHomeHitFearLeft and RightHome; RunReady To LoveHot, and Super, among others.

In May 2025, in celebration of their 10th anniversary, the team released the album entitled Happy Burstday, which carries the lead single Thunder.
