ABS-CBN, TV5 join forces for revamped morning lineup starting June 29

A supercharged Kapamilya and Kapatid morning block will come viewers way starting Monday.

A supercharged Kapamilya and Kapatid morning block will come viewers way starting Monday.

On Monday, June 29, a new era in the partnership of ABS-CBN and TV5 will come as the next phase of their revitalized tie-up begins.

As previously announced, the morning talk show Face To Face With Ate Koring of seasoned broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez-Roxas, which is a production of TV5 and Cignal, will finally make its way to ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2 and A2Z on free TV, and the Kapamilya Channel on cable and satellite.

Promising inspiring talks, the Kapatid program will be the first original production of the network to be seen across Kapamilya platforms.

The entry of the said TV5 program to ABS-CBN’s Umaganda will also inject fresh programming back to the said programming block, which has largely been filled with reruns since 2024, following the stoppage in the production of new episodes for the longest-running Kapamilya morning talk show Magandang Buhay.

Moreover, this will also be the second show of Sanchez-Roxas on Kapamilya platforms, where her eponymous weekly magazine program Rated Korina also air every Sunday afternoon.

Face To Face With Ate Koring will air weekdays at 11:00 am before Eat Bulaga on TV5 and back-to-back with It’s Showtime on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, and the Kapamilya Channel.

But beyond that program, another surprise has also been revealed on June 26. This, as TV5 officially announced the retirement of its Cine Cinco Sa Umaga block.

In its place, a new movie presentation block called Blockbusters Sa Umaga will be aired beginning on the last Monday of June.

The said block will simulcast the same content that will be aired on Kapamilya Blockbusters on both ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2 and Kapamilya Channel.

For the week of June 29 (Monday) to July 3 (Friday), the first five films that the block will air are The Commuter, Guardians of the Tomb, Red Line, The Osiris Child, and Shin Godzilla.

Kapamilya Blockbusters, Blockbusters Sa Umaga, and Zinema Sa Umaga will all air at 8:30 am every weekday morning.

In between the movies and Face To Face, at 10:30 am, ABS-CBN platforms will air the digital talk show Oh My Gan! of Ganiel Krishnan (except A2Z, where it will air at 9:30 am), while TV5 will continue to broadcast the pre-lunchtime newscast Frontline Express with Nikki De Guzman.

This is yet another development in the re-expansion of the partnership between ABS-CBN and TV5, which started anew with the premiere of Coco Martin’s Sigabo last Monday, June 22.

The said action-comedy-drama is the first program to be aired under the renewed team-up between the two media giants, which briefly halted their five-year-long partnership last January due to a publicized rift.
