It is a brand new era on the Kapuso afternoon block.
On Monday, June 22, the new romantic series You’re My Favorite Song made its premiere on GMA’s Afternoon Prime block.
The said program is top-billed by four of the network’s up-and-coming teen stars, who were all part of the recent Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0, led by the Kapuso Big Winner Caprice Cayetano, together with Heath Jornales, Marco Masa, and John Clifford.
Produced by the GMA Public Affairs group, it marks the directorial comeback of JP Habac, who also helmed the movie I’m Drunk, I Love You, on television.
Also part of YMFS are the likes of other PBB Collab 2.0 ex-housemates Lee Victor, Princess Aliyah, and Waynona Collings, as well as young Sparkle talents Kairo Lazaro, Andrei Fajardo, and Geo Mhanna.
Seasoned actors Boboy Garrovillo, Katya Santos, James Blanco, Kazel Kinouchi, and Wilma Doesnt all belong to the same cast as well.
The debut of You’re My Favorite Song also marks a new era for GMA Afternoon Prime, as all of its offerings see up-and-coming stars take centerstage.
The block kicks off with Born To Shine at 2:30 pm, with the musical drama series led by singer-actress Zephanie, together with her teammates in the fictional P-pop group YUMI, Olive May, Gaea Mischa, Naya Ambi, and Mitzi Josh, as well as Michael Sager.
The story has reached a new level as the character of Megan (Olive May) has discovered that Jeni (Zephanie) is her half sister.
Also part of the top-rating series are Vina Morales, Manilyn Reynes, Tessie Tomas, Smokey Manaloto, Roselle Nava, Tina Paner, and more.
Meanwhile, at 3:20 pm, the series Kamao comes next and is led by another PBB Collab 2.0 alum in Anton Vinzon, with the story following his character Makmak as he overcomes the early trials as an aspiring boxer.
Joining him in the cast are his father Roi Vinzon, Amy Austria, Katrina Halili, Neil Ryan Sese, Wendell Ramos, Chanty Videla, and Bruce Roeland, among others.
