It’s TS X TS.
On Tuesday, June 2 (Manila time), Disney and Pixar announced the upcoming release of a special collaboration between them and American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift.
The 14-time Grammy Award-winning musician, who had just released her 12th album The Life Of A Showgirl in October 2025, will be releasing a brand new song entitled I Knew It, I Knew You.
This confirmation to the “TS” billboards that were displayed in multiple parts of the United States, as well as Mexico City, Toronto, and London, which was preceded by a Toy Story 5-themed countdown on Taylor Swift’s official website.
The song, written by Swift and Jack Antonoff, will bw released on June 5 and will be used as an official soundtrack of the upcoming animated movie Toy Story 5, which will come out on June 17 in the Philippines.
Pre-sales have since begun on Taylor’s official website for the three exclusive CD editions that feature the new single as it appears in the film and the acoustic and piano versions, which all have unique vocals and production.
According to Disney and Pixar, it is inspired by the ongoing journey of Jessie, the cowgirl character, the fifth installment of the franchise, which began all the way back in Toy Story 2.
“‘I Knew It, I Knew You’ also marks a return to Swift’s country roots, blending styles that have defined her record-breaking career as a songwriter and artist,” they also revealed.
In a statement, Toy Story 5 director and screenwriter Andrew Stanton said, “It’s incredible just how meaningful it’s been having Taylor write and perform this song. Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable.“
“The song is so deeply connected to Toy Story. So much so that on first listen, it instantly felt like it had always belonged there, like a long-lost family member. It was kismet,” he added.
Toy Story 5 will follow Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang, as their roles are challenged by technology, specifically by Lilypad, a high-tech frog-shaped smart tablet voiced by Greta Lee.
Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack will all reunite to lend their voices to Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie, respectively.
Conan O’Brien will also be a part of the voice cast as the toilet training tech toy, Smarty Pants.
