They are the Ultimate Dance Star Duo of this edition.
On Sunday, May 31, the grand finals of the GMA reality-dance competition program Stars On The Floor aired with the dance floor fired up with the most electrifying showdown between five teams.
The Dance Star Duos that vied for the title were Jasmine Curtis-Smith x 1ST.ONE Joker, Rocco Nacino x KAIA Sophia, Paul Salas x CALISTA Denise, and Chanty x ALAMAT Jao, and Sugar Mercado x HORI7ON Jeromy.
The grand finale featured spectacular final performances from the Dance Star Duos, who each collaborated with their chosen star choreographer to deliver their most ambitious showcase — showcasing creativity and artistry through high-concept spectacles that blended storytelling, emotion, and choreography.
Following the combined scores from The Dance Authority — composed of Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, Kapuso King of the Dance Floor Rayver Cruz and Dance Trend Master Coach Jay Joseph Roncesvalles — as well as public online poll votes, the competition was narrowed down to the top two duos.
Sugar x HORI7ON Jeromy and Chanty x ALAMAT Jao earned their spots in the season’s ultimate Final Dance-Off.
In the end, Sugar and HORI7ON Jeromy — also known as SUMY — emerged victorious following their highly energized final performance that concluded their 16 week-long competition.
Following the announcement, Sugar said, “Lord Jesus Christ, maraming salamat! Sa mga anak ko, sa pamilya ni Jiro [Jeromy], sa inyong lahat—mula sa hosts, judges, coaches, stylists, sa mga nag-aayos ng mga buto namin, sa mga cameraman, sa mga boss—salamat po sa trabaho.“
She also gave a shoutout to her group, the iconic SexBomb Girls in her finale speech and said, “Sa grupo ko SEXBOMB, eyyy!”
Meanwhile, HORI7ON’s Jeromy said, “Gusto kong magpasalamat sa Daddy ko. Sana proud na proud ka sa akin. And Mommy, I love you! Thank you so much for attending my finale. And especially ‘yung mga boss po ng SOTF, GMA, and all the staff here—maraming salamat po sa mga tulong ninyo at sa walang hanggang suporta sa amin ni Ate Sugar.”
“Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat. I hope you guys enjoyed. And of course, thank you, HORI7ON!” he added.
The show’s host, Asia’s Multimedia Star and Box-Office King Alden Richards, along with Marian, other judges, A-Team, and all the dance star duos also collaborated for a special performance in the final episode.
