Many were baffled after seeing him on another primetime newscast.
In a stunning twist last Thursday, May 28, host-actor Matteo Guidicelli was seen for the first time on TV5’s flagship newscast Frontline Pilipinas.
He was there to promote his upcoming multi-part documentary series for Cignal TV’s One News and One PH channels entitled The Patriots, which will follow the lives of the men and women in duty for the country.
The show is set to premiere this June on both pay TV channels.
During which, the 36-year-old personality also announced that he will be joining the Kapatid network’s primetime drama series A Secret In Prague, where he is set to reunite with lead star Enrique Gil after Dolce Amore and Bagani.
However, what made the appearance especially surprising is Matteo’s role as a presenter on the Bilyonaryo News Channel’s own flagship newscast, Agenda, where he has been seen since October 2025 as its occasional showbiz, sports, and lifestyle anchor.
Although, it has been disclosed by the station that the newscast’s showbiz segment anchor, Erika Kristensen-Lee is making her comeback on Monday, June 1 after her year-long maternity break.
That has since fueled speculations about his supposed exit from the show, which is anchored by the trio of Korina Sanchez-Roxas, Pinky Webb, and Willard Cheng.
Furthermore, last Saturday, May 30, his eponymous weekly talk show Matteo G. Primetime was supposed to premiere its latest episode on BNC at 7:00 pm.
However, on his social media pages, Guidicelli’s team disclosed that the episode featuring the newlywed couple Jerald Napoles and Kim Molina will exclusively be streamed on the host-actor’s YouTube channel.
As a result, many have since questioned whether this spelled his abrupt departure from the Bilyonaryo News Channel. However, neither the channel, Matteo, or his agency Viva Artists Agency have issued any statement on the matter.
It can be recalled that Matteo signed a contract with the Bilyonaryo News Channel back on October 13, 2025, specifically for his role in Agenda, which started two weeks later on October 27.
But two days later, on October 15, he was seen attending another contract signing, where he inked a deal for the abovementioned documentary project under MQuest Ventures and Cignal.
Currently, aside from his showbusiness commitments, Guidicelli is also active as an entrepreneur and is managing restaurants and his production business venture with wife, Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo.
