It makes the estate the first commercial business district to be recognized under BERDE Districts.
Recently, the Nuvali Estate in Sta. Rosa, Laguna achieved a major sustainability milestone as its Lakeside and East Bloc districts earned BERDE 5-Stars Certification under BERDE Districts Version 1.0.0 for Stage 1 and Stage 2 from the Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC).
This makes Nuvali the first estate in the country to earn the rating, as well as the first time that districts within an Ayala Land estate have received the coveted BERDE 5-Stars certification.
Developed by PHILGBC, BERDE (Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence) is the country’s leading green building certification system.
It assesses developments based on a number of metrics concerning their environmental performance beyond existing laws and mandatory green standards.
“By achieving BERDE certifications in Nuvali, Lakeside Evozone, and East Bloc project demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship,” noted Rowena Ramos, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at PHILGBC.
For Ayala Land, which owns the estate, this further reinforces the estate’s role as a pioneer in sustainable and master-planned urban development, as well as the Nuvali’s position as a leading sustainable and masterplanned estate in the CALABARZON region.
“Receiving the BERDE 5-Stars Certification under BERDE Districts for both Lakeside and East Bloc reflects our commitment to building sustainable and future-ready communities that create long-term value for residents, businesses, and stakeholders,” said Gilbert Ramos, Senior Project Development Manager of Ayala Land Estates Inc.
Nuvali is hailed as Ayala Land’s flagship eco-city and the largest estate development in the region.
It is being positioned as the “Rising South,” and reflects Ayala Land’s long-term commitment to building environmentally responsive communities at scale.
Furthermore, the estate is evolving towards becoming as a growth center with sustainability, business, mobility, retail, and lifestyle components within a single master-planned community.
Located within the 200-hectare Metro Nuvali Central Business District, the Lakeside District serves as Nuvali’s leisure and lifestyle destination, anchored by open spaces, recreational amenities, retail offerings, and its signature lakeside environment.
According to Ayala Land, a major redevelopment of the district is now underway, including a new connection to Ayala Malls Nuvali, which is targeted for completion by the fourth quarter of the year.
Meanwhile, East Bloc is a business and commercial hub that has been envisioned to “support commerce, mobility, and modern urban living in the South.”
“Both districts were recognized for integrating environmentally responsive planning strategies, including walkability, green open spaces, sustainable land use, mobility connectivity, water management systems, and resilient infrastructure,” noted the property giant.
Recently, the Nuvali Estate signed for the Nuvali Parish Church with the Archdiocese of San Pablo and the Deed of Donation with the City Government of Santa Rosa for the upcoming LGU Satellite Office.
Lastly, the developer said, “As Nuvali continues to grow, the estate remains focused on developing communities that respond to evolving urban needs while preserving the natural environment that defines its identity.“
