Clarifying rumors about the railway project.

In a statement on Sunday, May 31, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) denounced circulating speculations regarding the upcoming Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7) project.

According to these reports, only 13 stations of the line will push through, with the San Jose De Monte (SJDM) station being supposedly shelved.

However, the DOTr said that there is no truth to those reports, with the line still having a total of 14 stations, with the northernmost terminus in SJDM, Bulacan remaining part of the MRT-7 project and “has not been removed from the approved alignment.”

Furthermore, the department , “the DOTr remains on track to commence operations of the initial 12 stations (Sacred Heart to North Avenue) of MRT-7 by the second quarter of 2027, following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to fast track all infrastructure projects for the commuters.

Meanwhile, the DOTr said the Tala and SJDM stations are expected to be completed and opened to the public by 2028.

Upon the completion of Line 7, it is estimated to serve at least 600,000 passengers on its first full year, with commuters travelling between North Avenue in Quezon City to sa San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan able to cut their travel time.
