From being a winner of the show’s iconic segment in the ’80s, he is now the person behind the controller.
In a post on Wednesday, May 27, singer-actor Ice Seguerra shared on social media his newest milestone.
The certified Batang Eat Bulaga has assumed a key role in the production of the country’s longest-running noontime variety show as he now sits as its director.
In the caption of his Facebook page, the 42-year-old personality, who won in the segment Little Miss Philippines 1987, shared his feelings as he entered his first day on the job.
“I had trouble sleeping the past few days dahil sa kakaisip,” revealed Ice. “While I’m used to directing concerts, live TV is a totally different animal. I have more to learn but I think today was a good day.”
He then expressed gratitude to the senior staff members of the show. “I want to thank Ate Jeny (Ferre) for the trust na kaya kong gawin Ito. Tita Poochie (Rivera), mula 3 years old ako, you’ve been guiding me at hanggang ngayon, ikaw pa rin ang gabay ko sa bagong journey na Ito. To my controlmates, especially our CamTD Paul, thank you for making it easy for me.“
He also did not miss to thank two important women in his life: his wife Liza Dino and his late mom, Caridad.
“Sa aking mahal, Liza, for the encouragement and for always believing in me. And to my mama, Caridad, ilang beses kang nag manifest noong nabubuhay ka pa. Eto na, mama! Nagkatotoo na!“
In a separate post, he also shared: “Balik kung saan nagsimula. But this time, as director of my home—Eat Bulaga. Waaah!! Grabe yung kaba ko. Send some good vibes pls…“
“Mama naalala ko, ikaw talaga nagmanifest nito dati. I hope I make you proud today,” added Ice.
Eat Bulaga airs every from Monday to Saturday noon on free-to-air channels TV5 and RPTV, as well as the Kapatid Channel on Cignal.
