FEU signs dual partnerships to elevate industry standards, strengthen evidence-based practice

These agreements mark the institution’s continued push toward more applied, real-world learning.

These agreements mark the institution’s continued push toward more applied, real-world learning.

Last April 7, the Far Eastern University (FEU) has formalized two strategic partnerships at its Makati campus, aimed at strengthening industry standards in the hospitality sector and advancing evidence-based practice in professional fields.

The academic institutions and industry practitioners are also coming together to address both workforce readiness and the growing demand for data-driven decision-making.

In the hospitality sector, the FEU Academy and the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITHM) officially partnered with Bacolod Chicken Inasal to enhance student training, professional development, and service excellence.

The signing was attended by key officials from FEU, including Vice President for Student Development and Continuing Education Dr. Joeven Castro, FEU Academy Executive Director Dr. Melinda D. Torres, FEU Makati Director Earl Joseph Borgoña, and ITHM Associate Dean John Lester Tuason, alongside Bacolod Chicken Inasal representatives.

The collaboration is designed to bridge academic instruction with operational realities in the food and hospitality industry.

The ITHM also noted that the initiative underscores FEU’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates while supporting organizations that prioritize service quality and customer experience.

Jose Mari Tanalgo, general manager of Bacolod Chicken Inasal, stated: “Our partnership with FEU Academy and ITHM reflects our family restaurant’s commitment to quality, homey, and clean food service, rooted in warm hospitality and memorable dining experiences.”

Meanwhile, parallel to that, the FEU Academy also signed a memorandum of agreement with the Association of Monitoring and Evaluation Professionals of the Philippines (AMEP-P).

This partnership aims to expand capacity-building efforts in monitoring and evaluation by introducing a practitioner-led diploma course that will bridge theoretical frameworks with real-world application.

All to address an increasingly critical need across government, development, and private sector programs.

Also present at the signing were AMEP-P Vice President Maria Corazon P. Jose and representatives from FEU Academy.

Monitoring and evaluation is not just about compliance-it is about empowering stakeholders to use evidence in designing programs, evaluating outcomes, and advancing policies that make a real difference,” said Enrique Lozari, president of AMEP-P.

Through this diploma course, we and FEU Academy are committed to building the capacity of professionals and organizations to deliver results and drive lasting development impact.

According to the educational institution, these dual partnerships reinforce FEU Academy’s broader mission to “deliver relevant, impactful, and practitioner-driven education that equips learners not only with technical knowledge but with the competencies needed to respond to evolving industry and development challenges.”
