Kapuso actor Miguel Tanfelix is entering a brand new era in his career as he makes his first stint as a solo host in the new infotainment special on GMA Network, Planet XP.

In the five-episode program, which is produced via the partnership of GMA Network and National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT)—as a grantee under the 2024 National Endowment Fund for Children’s Television (NEFCTV)—Miguel will be taking viewers into immersive adventures and real-life encounters with nature.

The 27-year-old heartthrob will try activities such as mountain climbing, windsurfing, connecting with indigenous people, and a whole lot more to showcase the beauty of the Philippines.

According to Miguel, this project is meaningful for him as an artist and a person.

Napatunayan ko rito na hindi sapat na pinapanood mo lang sa social media ‘yung adventures. Kailangan ma-experience mo firsthand ang pag-connect sa nature dahil marami kang matututunan,” he said.

He also highlights how the project is more than just a show for him.

Na-e-enjoy kong ma-experience ‘yung mga adventure kasi mas natututo ako,” noted Miguel, who is a certified adrenaline junkie.

Gaya nung outdoor activities na na-try ko rito, for me it’s a recharge. Kahit nakakapagod physically, masaya siya emotionally. May fulfillment.”

One testament to his being an adrenaline junkie is his solo backpacking trip to South America, where netizens admired him for having the courage to such adventure.

Another part of this project is his incision in GMA Entertainment Group’s Be Juan Tama campaign, together with Boy Abunda, Chris Tiu, and Dingdong Dantes.

Through this advocacy, they encourage viewers to choose content that fosters mental, emotional, and social growth.

There is a sense of responsibility. Mas maraming batang nakatingin sa iyo, mas marami kang gustong gawing tama sa mundo para ma-inspire sila na gumawa rin ng tama sa ibang tao at sa kalikasan,” Miguel reflected.

Planet XP will air all Saturdays of May at 6:30 pm, right after 24 Oras Weekend and before Pepito Manaloto on GMA.

Full episodes will also be available on GMA Network and GMA Playground YouTube channels.

It is presented with Filipino sign language interpretations and closed captioning.
