The actress-model said that despite the situation, she has been “safe and peaceful” in the past few days as she feels the presence of God.
In a post on her Instagram account, Maxene Magalona shared an update regarding her current situation as one of the thousands of Filipinos currently in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
However, her stay in the country comes at unfortunate time, as it is currently being bombarded by the retaliatory actions of Iran following the joint strike of the United States of America and Israel last Saturday, which led to the death of its Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
In her post, Magalona wrote, “Currently stranded/divinely placed in Dubai.”
“As of today, Dubai is navigating a period of high alert and significant disruption following a series of missile and drone attacks launched by Iran across the region. All flights have been cancelled as the airport has been closed indefinitely until further notice,” she added.
Despite the heightened tension, the 39-year-old personality said she has been feeling “safe and peaceful” during the six days that she has stayed in Dubai.
“The government of UAE truly has the best defense system as it was able to intercept more than a hundred missile and drone attacks. Now, more than ever, I feel God’s presence and protection,” she furthered.
In the same post, she also looked back on her experience of being alone and stranded in Bali, Indonesia at the height of the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020.
“I remember getting stranded in Bali in 2020 and feeling so scared and stressed because I was literally alone,” adding that she feels “blessed” to he with her partner, Geoff Gonzalez, this time around.
Meanwhile, Maxene also sent out her message to fellow Filipinos in Dubai who, like her, are also caught in the midst of the conflict.
“To all our kababayans in Dubai and the Philippines-l send you healing and peaceful energy. Try your best not to focus too much on what you’re seeing in the news but rather keep your eyes and heart focused on God. Trust and surrender that He has a divine plan for all of us,” she wrote.
To conclude her post, Maxene sent her appreciation to her friends and family who sent messages. “These difficult times show you the ones who truly care about you and for each and every one of you, we are so grateful.”
