With the phenomenon to last for almost an hour.
On Tuesday, March 3, Filipinos all over the country, barring any weather disturbance, will be able to see the moon have reddish glow as a Total Lunar Eclipse is set to happen.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the Moon will be totally eclipsed in Manila and other parts of the Philippines for about 59 minutes and 24 seconds.
It noted that without any weather disturbance or clouds in the sky, the public will be able to observe the Moon’s eclipse, which it will enter totality at 7:04 pm and the maximum eclipse following suit at 7:34 pm.
The state weather bureau added that the Total Lunar Eclipse will be completely visible over Eastern Asia, Australia, the Central Pacific, and most of the Americas.
“During the maximum eclipse, the Umbral shadow cast by the Earth will obscure 100% of the Moon’s disk. This phenomenon is sometimes referred to as a Blood Moon, as it appears red during the eclipse due to the way Earth’s atmosphere filters and scatters sunlight,” the agency explained the phenomenon.
It also noted that a modest pair of binoculars will be able to provide an excellent view of the Moon’s surface, although it is not required for viewing as contrary to solar eclipses, observing a lunar eclipse is completely safe and does not require any protective eyewear.
It was back in September 2025 when the previous Blood Moon rose behind the cloudy skies in the Philippines.
