The Kapuso news organization is up for another retooling.
Remember the time when the news department of Philippine media giant GMA Network was only simply known as GMA News?
Perhaps, many still do call them by the said name, in spite of having been renamed to its current identity as GMA Integrated News in late 2022, which was reinforced with plugs and and a full blown on-screen rebrand in 2023, following the consolidation of the branding for GMA News on television, GMA Regional TV, DZBB Super Radyo, and GMA News Online.
But as it it seems, it will not stay that way for long.
In a now-deleted post on his personal account on X (formerly Twitter), seasoned reporter Dano Tingcungco uploaded a picture of the network’s crew cab that is now sporting a newly-plastered decal.
Gone is the GMAIN mark and coming back to life is the GMA News mark, which will embrace the 2024 redesign of the corporate logo above the red-gradient font color for the News.
Also included in this forthcoming era for the award-winning news organization is the slightly remastered tagline, “Walang kinikilingan, walang pinoprotektahan. Noon at ngayon, serbisyong totoo lamang.”
It will replace the “Para sa mas malaking misyon, mas malawak na paglilingkod sa bayan” tagline that was introduced alongside the GMA Integrated News brand in 2023. Around that time, it also strengthened its image as “The News Authority of the Filipino.”
In December 2023, that major refresh was made much evident as the looks of all newscasts, including the flagship 24 Oras, were unified.
Aside from Tingcungco’s tweet, another visible proof can be seen on the news division’s official YouTube channel, which has 17.9 million views.
There, it has dropped the GMA Integrated News name in favor of GMA News, with their official handle appearing to be the placeholder “gmanews2026”.
Similarly, they have also updated their name on TikTok to reflect the looming full-scale comeback of its original brand.
The return of GMA News as an on-screen brand marks a clear departure from the changes that occurred during the tenure of Oliver Amoroso, the former Senior Vice President for GMA Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy groups.
In November 2025, Amoroso retired from the company and was succeeded by Vice President for News Programs and Specials Michelle Seva, who assumed the position of Officer-in-Charge of GMA Integrated News to oversee the day-to-day operations of the entire department concurrent to her current capacity.
Meanwhile, Senior Assistant Vice President and Deputy Head for Synergy Marivic Araneta was also be Officer-in-Charge of GMA Regional TV and Synergy.
At present, the network has yet to formally announce the return of GMA News.
