‘Eat Bulaga’ reactivates original Facebook page

Months after their YouTube channel was first reported to have resurfaced.

On Wednesday, May 20, a welcome development greeted Dabarkads on social networking site Facebook.

This, as the original Facebook page of the country’s longest running noontime variety show, Eat Bulaga, has finally been reactivated under TVJ Productions, Inc., the producer of the show that has been airing on TV5 since 2023.

For its first post, the account immediately updated its cover photo to reflect the current era of the show by putting up the logo they have been using since January 2024.

After which, regular posting activity ensued, with highlights from segments like Sugod Bahay Mga Kapatid and Gimme 5, which are also collaborated on the main TVJ page of the company.

In addition to all that, a livestream on Thursday noon (May 21) was also hosted by Ryzza Mae Dizon to interact with viewers who tuned in through the said page.

The return of the Eat Bulaga Facebook page comes months after it was initially reported that the YouTube channel of the show, which has 5.27 million subscribers, had resurfaced with the updated profile and cover pictures — signifying that it is now under the control of the TVJ group of Tito and Vic Sotto, as well as Joey de Leon and Company.

Previously, both the Facebook and YouTube accounts were also put at the center of the feud between erstwhile producer Television and Production Exponents (TAPE), Inc. at the height of the legal dispute over the titular and naming rights for Eat Bulaga.

It was said that the Facebook page remained under the administration of the team that joined TVJ, while the YouTube channel was utilized by TAPE for its short-lived iteration of Eat Bulaga / Tahanang Pinakamasaya, which ran from June 2023 to March 2024.

Eat Bulaga is airing every weekday at 12:00 noon and Saturday at 11:30 am on TV5 and its sister station RPTV, as well as the Kapatid Livestream and the official accounts of TVJ and the show itself.
