He said this as he takes charge of the next programming plans of his TV network.
In an interview with News5, business tycoon Manny Pangilinan gave hints as to where TV5 is headed following the end of its content supply agreement with ABS-CBN last January 1.
The 79-year-old billionaire, who serves as the chairman of the board, have already taken charge in the rebuilding of the station’s programming line-up, which is part of its bid to secure its position as the second-ranked free TV network in the country, next to GMA Network.
“Marami, marami. We’ve been meeting so many times in the past two weeks or so,” told Pangilinan.
He even commented on the decision to re-air past collaborations between the Kapatid and Kapamilya networks, which are the drama serials Nag-aapoy na Damdamin and Pira-Pirasong Paraiso, which air at 8:45 pm and 9:30 pm, respectively.
“[We’re] friends of everyone and enemy of no one,” MVP emphasized. “This industry is too small to be overly competitive.”
At present, no exact plans have been revealed as of yet regarding the line-up of the station. However, some already in the pipeline and have already begun airing their teasers.
These are A Secret In Prague (with Enrique Gil and Andrea Brillantes), The Kingdom: Magkabilang Mundo (starring Piolo Pascual, Derek Ramsay, Sue Ramirez, and Christine Reyes), The Good Doctor (top-billed by Iñigo Pascual), and My Bespren, Emman (of JM De Guzman, Shaina Magdayao, and Ai-Ai Delas Alas).
Meanwhile, in recent weeks, rumors are rife that the Kapatid network is also in the midst of a leadership shake-up, with MediaQuest president and CEO Jane Basas having been reported to have stepped down from her role.
However, the news has not yet been confirmed, with contradicting sources telling that she is on leave. Basas, nor the group, have not yet issued any official statement on the matter.
