In a post on Friday, May 22, Japanese TV network Fuji TV announced the cast members of a high-stakes series coming soon.
Entitled KiDnap Game, the company shared the premise on its website to be one that will start with a series of simultaneous kidnappings in seven Asian cities, specifically, Tokyo, Seoul, Manila, Bangkok, Taipei, Singapore, and Naha.
These will be connected when one of the victims’ family will receives an mail that reads, “You have been entered into the kidnap game. How far will you go to save your loved one? Only one person can be saved.“
Each participant in this game will be given a different instruction to save their loved one, which they must complete before the other participants.
The story will then revolve on why these people have become participants, who is the organizer, and their purpose.
Veteran Filipino actor Joel Torre is part of the series, where he will portray the role of Miguel, described as a “friendly taxi driver from Manila who has endured poverty since childhood.”
In the series, his grandchild will be the one forcibly taken from him, which will lead him to fight for his family.
Torre joins the cast led by Korean actor Lee Joon-gi, who will portray Han Kijoo, a surgeon whose daughter is abducted, forcing him to enter the dangerous game.
Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi is also another lead, as he will be playing the role of investigator Toshiro Niide.
Apart from them, also part of the series are Taiwanese actress Alice Ko, Hong Kong actor Stanley Yau from Hong Kong, Singaporean actress Carrie Wong, and Thai actress Plue-Nalponkamon Chaisen.
Its exact premiere date has yet to be confirmed, but it has been noted that it will come out sometime in October 2026.
