Influencer Camille Co denies links to contractors, government officials

She has set the record straight.

She has set the record straight.

Through her personal account on X, formerly Twitter, blogger and influencer Camille Co broke her silence after being caught in the middle of the controversy surrounding the anomalous flood control projects in the country.

On Wednesday, August 27, Co wrote a series of tweets in response to the situation.

Imagine my surprise opening my TikTok and discovering a ton of comments because of the viral Co’s. I’m not related to them nor do I know them. Why naman Lordttttttt,” the first one read.

In the other tweet, she said, “I’m not an heiress. I’m just a hardworking kween.”

Her followers, who mostly came into her defense, also shared their two cents on the matter.

One relayed to Camille that she was trending on the social networking platform TikTok, with the search tab showing “Camille Co flood control” and “Camille Co family business issue.”

Another follower also pointed out that she is also being linked to another group of people who she shares her surname with, which was in this case, the family of Puregold owner Lucio Co.

This prompted the influencer to express her frustration and elaborate further on her personal life.

Bakit kasi ang daming Co?!? There’s not one famous Co in my fam. They’re all very private. No one is in politics, the government nor construction,” she wrote.

Camille fell victim to what appears to be a case of mistaken identity, as a thread on the same platform recently became viral.

In the said post, some personalities, including influencers, were tagged as being blood-linked to the contractors of flood control projects in the country that are being scrutinized for either being defective or inexistent.

Some of the people listed there have the same surname as Camille, leading to the mix-up. At present, the people in the list have since deactivated their social media accounts or set their profiles to private.
