In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 5, Korean label BigHit Music clarified reports regarding the popular K-pop band BTS.

As per reports that circulated previously, they were allegedly part of a tribute album being created for the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

We would like to address recent media reports concerning BTS’ alleged participation in
a Michael Jackson tribute album,” the company’s statement began.

It then denied that the seven members have flown abroad to join the project and wrote, “BTS has neither visited Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland nor taken part in any recording sessions at the location for the mentioned project.

The group is not involved in the tribute album in any capacity,” the label emphasized.

In order to stop false reports from going around, BigHit vowed to take corresponding actions to stop it from spreading further.

We are continuing to take appropriate measures to prevent the spread of inaccurate information.
We express our sincere gratitude to fans for continuously showing support for BTS.”

Lastly, the agency expressed, “We remain fully committed to supporting the artists and their endeavors.”

Instead, fans should look forward to a new album from BTS, which is reported to be dropping early 2026. The new music project will mark their first full-group release since 2022.

BTS was formed in 2013 by what was then-known as BigHit Entertainment.

After a few years, the septet grew in popularity in their home base in South Korea, thanks to their early hits like ‘RUN,’ ‘DOPE,’ ‘FIRE,’ ‘Blood, Sweat, Tears,’ ‘Spring Day,’ among others.

In 2018, they successfully penetrated the Western entertainment industry after the release of the ‘Love Yourself’ album series, which features the songs like ‘Fake Love’ and ‘Boy With Luv,’ among others.

They have also collaborated with musical acts like Steve Aoki, Nicki Minaj, Halsey, among many others.
