Another color-inspired track from the hitmaker.
In a post on Monday, May 19, in his account on X (formerly Twitter), singer-songwriter Maki revealed the title of his next single.
Titled ‘Kahel Na Langit,’ the rising OPM (original Filipino music) remained true to his “orange-filled” imagery in the scheduler that he uploaded last April.
In line with the announcement, his parent label, Tarsier Records, also shared the official poster and cover art for the new song.
Meanwhile, in another post on Tuesday, May 20, a teaser for the possible theme of the lyrics was shared, with the text reading, “back then, I never really eat orangrs. I just peel them and give it to [you]. I still do, but you’re not here anymore.”
‘Kahel Na Langit‘ is also likely to be part of Maki’s first full-length album, titled ‘Kolor Coaster,’ which is slated to be released this year.
The next song will also be following the earlier trilogy comprising of the hit songs ‘Dilaw,’ ‘Namumula,‘ and ‘Bughaw‘.
Aside from these, Maki also shared last year that he is also working on another single, ‘Itim Na Ulap‘, that will be part of the album.
After going viral on social media in 2023, thanks to his Filipino or English translations of popular Korean pop songs, Maki became an official recording artist and released his original songs ‘Saan?’, which was later followed by ‘Bakit?’ and ‘Kailan?’ that same year.
He also holds the distinction as the first singer to clinch the top spot in the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 charts when it launched in July 2024.
