The breakthrough Thai heist-thriller movie of 2017 is having a serialized Filipino adaptation this year.
On Tuesday, March 18, Studio Viva formally introduced the four main stars of the upcoming Philippine remake of ‘Bad Genius: The Series’.
Taking on the role of Lin will be showbiz royalty, Atasha Muhlach, who will be making her full-time acting debut through the series. Aokbab Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying played the part in the movie.
Meanwhile, Jairus Aquino will star as Bank, which was originally portrayed by Nonkul Chanon Santinatornkul.
‘Chasing In The Wild’ stars Gab Lagman and Hyacinth Callado are reuniting in ‘Bad Genius: The Series,’ where they will respectively act as Pay and Grace — which were the roles of James Teeradon Supapunpinyo and Oom Eisaya Hosuwan.
Also confirmed as cast members of the new series are Ruffa Gutierrez, Irma Adlawan, Romnick Sarmenta, Yayo Aguila, Joko Diaz, Lander Vera Perez, Keagan de Jesus, Gold Aceron, and Alex Payan.
The Filipino remake, which will be directed by Derick Cabrido, is going to be streamed exclusively by Viva One later this 2025.
Produced by GDH 559 and Jor Kwang Films, the ‘Bad Genius’ movie gained immense popularity in its home country and around the world.
In 2020, both studios produced a 12-episode series for its sister Thai television network, One31, dubbed as ‘Bad Genius: The Series.’
Outside of its home country, ‘Bad Genius’ has also spawned overseas adaptations in India and the United States.
