On Friday, September 12, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) officially launched its new 50th Coffee Table Book at the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) 2025 in Pasay City.
During the program, the film fest gave out the first copies the book the esteemed group of Hall of Famers, who won three times or more in the same category.
These were Ricky Lee, Jose Javier Reyes, Lee Briones-Meily, Roy Iglesias, and Nora Aunor—whose copy was received by her daughter, actress Lotlot de Leon.
Meanwhile, the newly inducted members of the club are Judy Ann Santos and production designer Ericson Navarro.
In her speech, Santos was grateful for being the youngest three-time Best Actress winner to be included in the elite group. Her most recent win was in 2024 for the movie ‘Espantaho’.
“Salamat po. Napakarami kong magagandang experiences sa lahat ng mga taon na sumali ako sa MMFF, mula dalaga pa ako. Hindi ko naisip kailanman na makakarating ako sa puntong magiging Hall of Famer ako. Nakakaloka ‘to!”
She also thanked directors and producers that trusted her over the years, as they helped her hone herself and become whole as an actress.
“Maraming natutunan, maraming memories, maraming pagod ang nakamtan ko rito. Pero, yung pagod na worth it kasi marami kang napapasayang mga tao,” Juday continued.
Meanwhile, at the same event, the MMFF committee announced that they have moved the dates for the submission of finished movies (now September 30) and the announcement of the final four entries (October 10).
Other key dates include a celebrity golf tournament on December 9, Parade of Stars on December 19, the opening day on December 25, and the Gabi ng Parangal on December 27.
