The two domestic carriers are the first to shift bases under the new management.
On Friday, October 11, local carriers Cebgo and AirSwift separately announced changes to their operations at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) come next month.
Cebgo, a subsidiary of Cebu Pacific, will be moving to Terminal 2 from Thursday, November 7, 2024.
According to the domestic carrier, the affected routes are their DG-coded flights from Manila to Busuanga (Coron), Caticlan (Boracay), Cebu, Legazpi, Masbate, Naga, San Jose, Siargao, and Surigao.
Affected passengers are advised to “update their contact details via the Manage Booking portal on the CEB website (http://www.cebupacificair.com/manage-booking) to receive flight reminders and updates.”
Additionally, Cebgo also requests passengers to check their terminal assignments in advance and allot extra time for their travel towards the airport.
Similarly, boutique airlines AirSwift, which is in the process of being acquired by Cebgo’s parent airline, had also announced their relocation from Terminal 4 to Terminal 2 from Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
AirSwift said that their customers will receive a revised electronic ticket, “which will reflect the terminal change allowing you [passengers] to prepare accordingly.”
The news about the reassignment of Cebgo and AirSwift to Terminal 2 comes as the Terminal 4 passenger building is slated to undergo renovations from November 2024 until the early part of 2025.
Both carriers have expressed support for the “long-term vision of the New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC),” the consortium that took over the operations and management of the aging aviation gateway from the government last September.
At present, this reassignment only affects the two carriers. The earlier revealed plan of NNIC to move most of the airliners has yet to be implemented.
