Could this mark the comeback of ABS-CBN dramas in daytime?
On Friday, April 29, ABS-CBN Entertainment unit Dreamscape unveiled an upcoming drama titled ‘Pira-Pirasong Paraiso’. The series is set to star Joseph Marco, Elisse Joson, Charlie Dizon, Loisa Andalio, Ronnie Alonte, Alexa Ilacad, and KD Estrada. It is to be directed by Raymund B. Ocampo.
The project is rather special as it will mark the very first official collaboration between ABS-CBN and TV5 for a television program. That is despite having been in close ties since January 2021.
‘Pira-Pirasong Paraiso’ is also the second collaboration drama of ABS-CBN and Dreamscape this year. The first being ‘Unbreak My Heart’, a partnership between ABS-CBN, GMA Network, and Viu and is already slated to premiere on GMA Telebabad sometime in the second quarter of this year.

Apart from that, in the first teaser of ‘Pira-Pirasong Paraiso’, the series is being aligned with previous Kapamilya daytime series like ‘Doble Kara’, ‘Sandugo’, ‘Love Thy Woman’, and ‘Kadenang Ginto’. Hence, triggering speculations that the series would mark the return of ABS-CBN in the daytime drama game.
The last time ABS had an original series on the block was the ‘Bagong Umaga’, which ended its run more than two years ago. Since then, Kapamilya Gold afternoon block was only filled with reruns of previous ABS-CBN series ala-Jeepney TV.
‘Pira-Pirasong Paraiso’ will be aired sometime this 2023 on TV5, Kapamilya Channel, and streamed on Kapamilya Online Live and iWantTFC.
