A new national pageant is launching this year.
Last June 10, Reina Filipinas was officially introduced as the latest brand in the Philippine pageantry scene.
At helm of the said pageant is renowned shoemaker Jojo Bragais, whose personal shoe brand was most recently the official footwear of the MGI All Stars candidates during the inaugural edition in Thailand last May.
He will serve as the President of the pageant, with reigning Miss Grand International 2025 Emma Mary Tiglao appointed as its national director.
Present during the launch were Bragais, Tiglao, as well as Miss Grand International pageant founder Nawat Itsaragrisil, MGI All Stars winner Vanessa Pulgarin, and Top 5 finisher Gazini Ganados.
The pageant will ultimately be filling two roles at once as it will not only be responsible for selecting the Philippines’ official representative to the annual Miss Grand International pageant, but also two queens who will be joining the spin-off MGI All Stars.
Following the launch, it has already unveiled the eligibility requirements for interested parties.
For Miss Grand International Philippines, candidates must be a female at birth, a Filipino citizen aged between 18 and 35 years old, a valid Philippine passport-holder, and at least 5’4″ (163 cm) tall.
Meanwhile, for MGI All Stars, the eligibility is expanded to not only allow cisgender women, but also transgender women to join, with the age range being 20 to 40 years old. They must also be a holder of a valid Philippine passport and at least 5’4″ (163 cm) tall.
However, additional condition applies, as they must also be a previous representative in any international beauty pageant and have not won any major international pageant crown.
Auditions are now underway and will run until June 30, with the coronation night for the inaugural Reina Filipinas set to take place on August 7, 2026.
